Un-Scary Podcast Tech
As us podcast editors like to joke: “You can’t polish a poop.” In this session, we’re nailing down how to make your DIY podcast recordings sound (and look) way more professional from the source. Podcast tech doesn’t have to be intimidating, or reserved for folks with a studio-level budget. These tips will be actionable and evergreen: whether you are a solo podcaster, working with a co-host, recording remote interviews, producing audio-only or creating video as well, and whether you will be editing yourself or passing off your raw recordings to an editor.
We’ll cover the practical, budget-friendly steps you can take BEFORE and DURING recording to instantly improve your audio and video, saving you the pain of troubleshooting later. Think mic technique you can remember in five seconds, simple environment tweaks that don’t require a studio build-out, and guest prep strategies that help everyone sound like they know what they’re doing. And because great recordings set the stage for easier editing, smoother production, and a better listener experience, we’ll also talk about what happens right after you stop recording: organizing and prepping your files for easy handoff to your editor… or to yourself, if you’re the podcast do-it-aller.
Action step: Immediately after the session attendees should feel empowered to run a 60-second mic and environment check to audit their current recording space and brainstorm improvements/action items.

Own Your Story, Rock Your Brand!
When I launched This Latina Travels, I thought I was simply sharing travel stories from my perspective. What I didn’t realize was that I was building more than a podcast — I was creating a brand, a movement, and a community. In this session, I’ll take you behind the scenes of how my passion project evolved into a platform with global reach, deep community engagement, and brand partnerships that align with my mission. You’ll learn how to move beyond just publishing episodes and start positioning your podcast as a powerful storytelling brand that people want to connect with, support, and share.
We’ll explore the strategies that helped me stand out in a crowded podcasting space — from crafting a clear and authentic brand identity, to integrating digital products, attending events, and building collaborations that keep my audience coming back. Whether you’re just starting your podcast or you’ve been producing episodes for years, you’ll walk away with actionable steps to elevate YOUR voice, amplify your impact, and truly rock your brand from the mic all the way to your legacy.
Action step: Complete the Podcast Brand Clarity Worksheet to define your unique brand story, audience, and mission so you can start positioning your podcast as more than content — as a movement! I would provide this worksheet during my presentation.

The Art of Guest Selection: Tips for Podcast Hosts
Choosing the right podcast guests is a crucial element for a successful and engaging show. The ideal guest brings to the table a blend of expertise, relevance, and personality that resonate with the target audience. Their knowledge and insights should align perfectly with the podcast’s theme and niche, adding genuine value and fresh perspectives to each episode. By strategically selecting guests who can not only share valuable information but also captivate listeners with compelling storytelling and a strong stage presence, hosts can elevate their content and foster a deeper connection with their audience. This thoughtful guest selection contributes significantly to increased listener engagement, credibility building within the niche, and ultimately, the sustainable growth of the podcast’s audience.
Furthermore, the right guests offer a valuable opportunity for podcast promotion and audience expansion. Guests, particularly those with a strong online presence and engaged following, can act as natural promoters of the episode, leveraging their networks to introduce the podcast to new potential listeners. This mutually beneficial exposure expands the podcast’s reach and introduces its brand to segments of the audience that may have been previously unreachable. Selecting guests who are not only captivating communicators but also strategically aligned with the podcast’s goals, from their area of expertise and/or personal experience solidifies the show’s position as a respected voice within its niche.
Action step: Leave with a quick three-step to qualify your next 3 podcast guest.

From Invisible to Irresistible Cover Art
Your podcast deserves to be seen and heard. Ever wonder what makes some podcast covers pop while others fade into the feed? As a former visual arts teacher and branding photographer, I’ll show you how to use 5 basic art principles to evaluate any cover art. Then we’ll put those principles to work in a game of Does it work and why (not)?
Finally, I’ll share ways to create or upgrade your cover art at every budget level—from DIY tools to professional options. If you’ve ever wondered whether to include a photo, graphic, or tagline, or felt confused about colors and fonts, this session has you covered.
Action step: Complete a cover art audit using the provided checklist and identify your top 3 improvement opportunities

Branding Strategies For Podcast
A podcast isn’t just a passion project—it’s a brand, and when done right, it can open the door to real revenue. This session will break down how to build a podcast brand that truly stands out. From finding your niche and understanding your audience to creating a consistent look, feel, and voice across episodes and platforms, attendees will learn how to create a brand that builds trust and keeps listeners coming back for more.
We’ll also dive into the fun part: making money. Whether it’s through sponsorships, premium content, merch, live events, or promoting your own services, there are tons of ways to turn a podcast into a profitable platform. This session will give attendees clear, practical strategies to help them grow their podcast into something that not only sounds great—but earns, too.
Action step: Audit your podcast brand across all platforms—review your cover art, episode titles, social media, and website—and make one change to better align everything with your core message and target audience.

Pause, Pivot, Podcast
Behind every consistent podcast is a creator navigating real life. So what happens when life interrupts your carefully laid plans? Whether you’re grieving a loss, navigating burnout, shifting identities, or simply growing into a new season, your podcast will inevitably intersect with your humanity. In this candid session, Nina Rodriguez shares how to stay rooted in your voice while making space for change. She’ll explore how to take intentional breaks, shift direction, and redefine what success looks like when life gets messy.
This session is both practical and personal, offering strategies for pausing with purpose and pivoting with clarity. You’ll walk away with tools to honor your own capacity, tend to your listeners with care, and podcast in a way that reflects your evolving truth. Whether you’re in a moment of stillness or ready to reimagine your show, this is your permission to keep creating at your own pace, and on your own terms.
Action step: Create mindful mic breaks. Block out at least three separate one-week breaks (“Pause Week”) on your calendar over the next 6–12 months to intentionally step away from podcasting, allowing yourself space to rest, reset, and return with clarity.

Your Voice Deserves Legal Protection
Session sponsored by Legalmiga Law
You’ve got the mic, the message, and the momentum. But is your podcast legally protected? If your podcast name isn’t trademarked, your guest releases are nonexistent, and you’re winging it with sponsor deals…you’re not alone. In this session, I’m breaking down what every podcaster needs to know about the legal side of growing a real brand – not just a hobby. We’ll cover the basics of LLCs, contracts, and trademarks in plain English, so you can stop wondering if you’re “too small” for legal and start treating your podcast like the legacy it is.
This isn’t about fear or worst-case scenarios. It’s about ownership. If you’ve built a podcast you’re proud of, let’s make sure no one can copy it, steal your name, or screw you over in a deal. Legal doesn’t have to be scary or expensive, but it does need to be intentional. You’ve worked hard to build your voice and your platform. Now it’s time to protect it.
Action step: Search your podcast name in the U.S. Trademark Office database (USPTO.gov) to see if it’s already taken, and find out if your brand is really yours. This 60-second step is simple, free, and always a reality check.

Sustainable Podcasting Workflows for Energy-Aware Creators
Did you know that 80% of podcasts don’t survive the first ten episodes (Source: Riverside.fm blog, citing The Creative Hustler Podcast)? That means simply staying consistent already places you in the top tier of global podcasters. But consistency isn’t just a matter of discipline; it’s often a question of access, energy, and sustainability. For many neurodivergent, chronically ill, or energy-aware creators, traditional podcasting advice overlooks the real barriers we face, including burnout, executive functioning challenges, and unpredictable capacity.
I’ve been podcasting for nine years with over 350 episodes across two shows (Chicana Motherwork Podcast, 2016–2021, and Grad School Femtoring Podcast, 2019–present), and I’ve done so while navigating chronic illness, neurodivergence, parenting, and multiple career pivots. In this session, I’ll share strategies for creating your own sustainable podcasting workflows that simplify your process, overcome burnout, and help you avoid the dreaded podfade. You’ll leave with a checklist of steps you can take to streamline your podcasting systems so you can stay creative, consistent, and connected to your podcast’s purpose for the long haul.
Action step: Use the GSF Sustainable Podcast Workflow Checklist to reflect on your current process and map out the next 2-3 areas you can simplify, systematize, or automate.

All About Voice Inflection: Delivery Techniques Rooted in Storytelling
In this session, we’re zooming in on voice inflection. And no, it’s not about overthinking or sounding overly polished, but about learning how to use tone, pacing, and emphasis to bring your words to life. When used intentionally, voice inflection becomes a storytelling tool that helps you connect more deeply with your audience and keeps them engaged from start to finish. At the end of the day, your voice is the most powerful tool you have in your podcasting journey, whether your audio-only or not.
This will be an interactive session where we’ll experiment with real techniques in real time, even using your hobbies or podcast themes to guide the tone (literally). We’ll explore how subtle changes in your voice can completely shift the way your message is received. Whether you’re telling a story, conducting an interview, or opening your show, you’ll leave with a stronger sense of how to use your voice to enhance delivery and build connection.
Action step: Re-listen to one of their recent podcast episodes and study their voice inflection having the awareness of this delivery method. Listen for “voice inflection” cues or areas where you could have perhaps created emphasis, emotion, or variation.

Mastering Sponsorships to Monetize Indie Podcasts
Monetizing an indie podcast can feel like a mystery — especially when the advice out there is either hyper-corporate or totally out of touch. In this session, Danielle Bezalel, MPH (she/her) — creator and host of Sex Ed with DB — pulls back the curtain on how she turned her passion project into a six-figure podcast (with 1200 average downloads an episode) by mastering the art of podcast sponsorships. With zero network backing and no industry shortcuts, Danielle built a thriving, sustainable brand by learning how to pitch, price, and partner with values-aligned companies that actually care about her audience.
This session isn’t about vague “monetization strategy.” It’s a no-fluff breakdown of the real tools you need to make your podcast profitable — without selling out or burning out. Most podcasters treat their website like a placeholder, a spot to drop some links and call it a day. But your site? It could be your show’s most underused co-host.
In this session, we’ll reframe your website as a lead-generating, trust-building, binge-worthy home base for your podcast. You’ll learn how to optimize what you already have. From SEO-ready episode hubs to lead-capturing automations, I’ll show you how to turn your website into a strategic asset that supports your show even when you’re off the mic.

AI for Podcasters Who Have Better Things to Do
Having a podcast comes with many moving parts: figuring out the tech, editing, planning episodes that align with your goals… and you’re juggling all of this solo?! What if AI could become your creative co-pilot instead of another overwhelming tool to learn? That’s exactly what we’ll explore in this session.
Discover the 3-pillar framework that will elevate your podcast without losing what makes you uniquely YOU. Learn how to Audit (using AI to spot blind spots in your content strategy), Amplify (scaling your authentic voice without generic AI-speak), and Accelerate (turning one episode into a week’s worth of strategic content that actually converts).
Action step: Implement a 15-minute audit session with one of the prompts provided in the session.

No More “What Do I Post?”
Many podcasteras—especially solo creators and personal brands—feel overwhelmed trying to keep up with content creation for social media while also running their shows. The constant pressure to “stay visible” often leads to burnout, ghosted Instagram feeds, and podcasts that fall off schedule. But what if your podcast could feed your entire content strategy?
In this session, Mayra Ortiz Nieves, podcast producer and host of Alto y Claro, will teach you how to transform a single episode into 8 or more strategic content pieces that actually nurture your audience and reinforce your brand—without needing to reinvent the wheel all the time. You’ll learn how to extract, adapt, and amplify your voice using content you already created. No more wondering what to post. No more chasing trends. Just sustainable, aligned visibility rooted in your podcast.
This session is especially designed for podcasters who are audio-first, have limited time or team support, and are ready to make their podcast work harder for them—on and off the mic.
Action step: Choose one past podcast episode and turn it into 3 new pieces of content this week using the included repurposing guide.

Your Legacy Deserves a Press Kit
Learn how to grow your podcast and amplify your impact by embracing your public speaker identity (claro que sí—your podcast naturally makes you a speaker!).
Together we’ll go over how a speaker portfolio can not only attract great guests to interview on your podcast, but how to leverage your brand as a podcast host and speaker to book public speaking engagements yourself! This will allow you to take your own podcast content on tour—on other podcasts, virtual conferences, and stages around the world—to further share your message with new audiences who need your unique perspectives.
Action step: Add your brand new speaker press kit to your portfolio + highlight it through your marketing so folks know exactly how to book you to speak at their next event!

We’ll walk through how to plan and structure a mini YouTube series that supports your podcast and your business goals.
